Litter Robot Self Cleaning Litter Box

Litter Robot Self Cleaning Litter Box

Love your cat?

Hate his litter box?

Well you’re not alone.

Sure, litter boxes come with the territory.
You knew that when your sweet little kitty entered your life — and your home.
And you, being the lover of all things cute, cuddly and meow-y — didn’t care.

But let’s face it, even the most dedicated cat lover would prefer to keep the feline and toss out the old bacteria laden scooper and foul smelling litter box.

Well thankfully, the makers of the Litter Robot Automatic Self Cleaning Litter Box heard the cries of cat owners everywhere, and created what is likely the best self cleaning litter box on the market.

Imagine it — never scoop that litter box again!

This patent pending, one-of-a-kind self cleaning cat litter box automatically cleans itself after each use. That’s right, little Fluffy enters, does her business, exits and the Litter Robot jumps into action while you sit on your sofa, watching Dancing With the Stars, completely oblivious to what fabulous favor is being done for you by the magic litter box fairies.

Okay, maybe there’s no actual litter box fairies fluttering around with tiny little scoopers in their dainty little hands, but there is technology at hand – and it’s saving you from one heck of a dirty job.

So how does it work?

For starters, we’ll tell you how it doesn’t work – it doesn’t utilize rakes or wires that the other self cleaning litter boxes use. The reason it doesn’t use them is because they tend to clog and jam.
A clogged, jammed up mechanism means a whole more than litter scooping for pet owners. It means unclogging and un-jamming!

The Litter Robot Self Cleaning Litter Box uses a “sifting” process rather than a raking one.

Seven minutes after the weight sensors inside the Litter Robot cat box detect Fluffy’s entrance and subsequent exit, the sifting process begins with a slow, counter-clockwise rotation of the globe.

The clumps of waste are separated from the unused area of the litter and are then deposited into a large drawer below. This drawer is lined with a regular household plastic garbage bag so no “special bags” are needed and speaking of “special,” unlike most other self cleaning litter boxes, any quality clumping cat litter is fine for use with the Litter Robot.

The Litter Robot allows cat owners to either start the sifting process manually or to just leave the switch in the automatic position and let those magic litter fairies do their stuff after each use.

If you’re looking for negatives, there are only a few that need mentioning. For starters, like any litter box, self cleaning or not, Fluffy can still track litter on the floor. There’s a mat that can be purchased separately but while that may contain the scatter, it doesn’t eliminate the need to sweep up every now and then.

While it’s a “self-cleaning litter box,” the term is not exactly literal. Of course you’ll still have to clean it. After all, the bag in the bottom drawer will need emptying at least twice per week (more if you have multiple cats) and the entire box should be refreshed by emptying the entire litter stash (there’s a button for that!) on a monthly basis. Every few to several months, the whole Litter Robot should be cleaned according to manufacturere’s instructions.

Even with a few little tweaks that could be done before the next model comes out, the Litter Robot LRII is still sure to impress any cat owner. It’s large, roomy litter area makes it big enough for use by more than one cat and it’s quality manufacturing and intelligent design are sure to make things easier and make cat ownership even better than you’d ever imagined.

The price is not cheap but the Litter Robot LRII is worth every penny because it works — and that’s more than most other self-cleaning boxes can say.
